How long will it take for me to get 5 digit, will i even have the skill to get that? lol
I love this game but im such a slow learner, is there any way to make me get better faster?
I have way more hours than others at a similar rank but my top plays are just pp farm :(
I have lots of offline hours too btw around 150.
how washed am i? do i have any potential? sorry if this is the wrong place to post btw

My strategy was to grind trying to learn streams and finger control. After about a month of that my tapping was no better but my aim was better so I grinded out aim for 2 days and hit 5 digit.

It will take as much hours as you want. I'm pretty sure you can do it!

For playing in the longer run, I'd usually play a variety of maps beside just aiming. Now that I'm already playing this osu for so much, rank doesn't matter to me anymore and I continue to improve on my preffered skillset. But if you choose not to care about it, you could just try your best to farm a lot of high 5* NM/HD all you want. With high accuracy on those plays, That is sufficient enough to get to five digits.

The only method to increase your improvement rate is to one trick a single skillset. Putting all your time into a single skill will counteract your slow improvement to some degree. I'd suggest high bpm DT aim (240+ to start with, something like Wonderful Wonder for example) as its the most overweight skillset in history and is the easiest to push into 4 digit with by far. DT aim is a godsend for players with bad genetics, tapping is very hard to learn unless you are genetically built for it. I have atrocious genetics myself (literally got carpal tunnel from pushing 200 bpm streams lmao). I didn't one trick aim because I enjoyed experiencing every skillset the game has to offer way more. Honestly it was a mistake because now I'll NEVER reach the end goal I had since I started, getting 4 digit.

Really you can play any skillset you want, as long as you put 90% of your playtime into it. If that doesn't sound fun to you, then just stop caring about your improvement rate. You certainly have potential as long as you keep grinding consistently. I can see your playcount is very spread out and inconsistent. Playing every day and taking breaks when you get any pain at all will do you wonders my friend.

I'm sure you can hit 4 digit someday! You aren't too far off anyways, and improvement is always possible. Also, I would argue that DT aim requires genetics too; I, for one, can not read anything past ar9.8 (reaction speed) well enough to gain any amount of pp, despite being able to stream a reasonably high bpm for my rank. It's also why top players are generally split between tapping and aim players, though obviously aim players are still the majority.

Thanks for the hype up, but as I said, I have carpal tunnel in both my hands. My career is over. This injury is permanent. Even if I manage to get surgery, it will just eventually come back anyway. The doctors told me I'll likely need surgery many many times in my life since I got it this young. I got within 600 ranks, but thats as close as I'll ever get to achieving my 5 year long obsession.

Also you are right actually, they both require different kinds of genetics. Really its just trial and error to see which one best suits you, and personally DT aim was that for me even though I didn't like the skillset very much. I just suggested them to play DT aim because its the most common skillset that people are more suited to it seems. You made me realize I shouldn't have told them to do that, and instead try all of the big 3 farm skills that you can rise to the top with. (DT aim, NM/HD/HR flow aim, DT speed) You have to have super human genetics to farm anything else. How Bonk mainly farms tech and alt will always baffle me. Bro is rank 300 while farming that? Like what??

get good sleep. idk what accs standard players should play for but on mania between 90->95% is good for improvement so whatever that is on osu standard should be good (90% is like barely able to keep up and play accurately at all, 95% is pretty comfortable able to plat the song and 93% is in the middle of those two. whatever acc range feels like this you play with) and uhhh posture is important. if you tap on keyboard you can try wrist up since i do trill motions (basically alternating tapping for standard ) better on mania and minijack (single tapping motions) better on mania

for how i go through improvement, every day i speedrun warm up and try to get 1 to 3 attempts on the songs i wanna grind to reach my goal acc 95% until i reach it or take a break

tangent yap but not the offtopic tangent yaps
i should really make a std-compatible filtered selection in my improvement thread in mania so my lazy ass can drop linkies. also just edit it alot so it becomes a great archive of orchestrated knowledge i offer all who click link

just know, up to 83% of carpel tunnel is actually false/misdiagnosis, just keep moving your hands, dont be sedentary with them. im not saying to damage your hands more but so long as your focused on getting better you still have a shot.

Will you get there? - Absolutely. I'm a trash player and I did manage to hit 5 digit. It wasn't easy, but you'll definitely get there, it doesn't require any crazy skills and/or genetics whatsoever, just practice and experience

Looking at your top plays, two of which you've set 11 hours ago BY THE WAY, so you're already climbing, I'm eager to suggest you stop tryharding very high accuracy on maps, because you obviously do that and move out of your comfort zone pushing for those 6+ stars. You'll stop climbing for the time you're playing maps outside of your skill range, but it will improve your speed and skills needed to eventually FC them and get 5 digit rank.
After some pushing - get back to the maps you're farming right now and you'll be amazed how much easier they've become. Compare your scores from 1-2 month ago and you'll see the improvement - that's a sign you're on the right track!
